Shuey's Inn, Jupiter, Fla., c. 1940
Shuey's Inn in Jupiter, Florida was a popular tourist spot on the Loxahatchee River for many years. First established in the early 1930s by O. Schumacher, Shuey's Inn offered rental cottages, a trailer camp and restaurant. It was located across from the Jupiter Lighthouse and according to an advertisement in the Palm Beach Post (20 Nov 1938) "where the Indian and Loxahatchee Rivers join the Ocean." -

Caption on back reads "Olympia Beach---Picture City, 25 miles north of Palm Beach, is one of the finest developments in the fashionable tropical seashore belt. It has its own water plant, electric plant, ice plant, 3 railroad stations, school and church, Picture City Inn, Pine Ridge Inn, Tangerine Grove, golf course and tennis courts. It has extensive frontages on the Dixie Highway, Atlantic Ocean and Indian River."
