The Eden (later called Edenlawn) community was founded in 1880s and was initially used for large pineapple plantations and later became commercial nurseries and eventually a vacation resort area in the 1950s and 1960s.   • Exterior side view of the third Methodist Church built in Stuart. This church was dedicated in 1917 after the upstairs construction was finished and was located at the corner of West 3rd Street and Albany Avenue.
  • Exterior front view of the second Methodist Church built in Stuart. This church, located at the corner of 2nd Street and Albany Avenue, was dedicated in 1907 but was destroyed by a fire in 1916.
  • Front view of The Victory hotel which was previously the Peacock Arcade on Flagler Avenue. The building was remodeled and opened as The Victory Hotel in March 1942; the Marine Room and Beach Club opened in March 1944. Front façade of the building advertises a bar, cocktail lounge, package goods, billiard parlor, restaurant, Marine Room & Beach Club, and beauty parlor. The Victory Hotel later became the Toric Hotel in December 1950, the Tropic Hotel in March 1951, and the Commodore Hotel in September 1956. It burnt down in January 1959.

  • The Blue Goose Inn opened in 1944 replacing Fuller's Bar which occupied the location previously. The business expanded over the years to include cottages for lodging (Blue Goose Court).
