Description
Front view of The Victory hotel which was previously the Peacock Arcade on Flagler Avenue. The building was remodeled and opened as The Victory Hotel in March 1942; the Marine Room and Beach Club opened in March 1944. Front façade of the building advertises a bar, cocktail lounge, package goods, billiard parlor, restaurant, Marine Room & Beach Club, and beauty parlor. The Victory Hotel later became the Toric Hotel in December 1950, the Tropic Hotel in March 1951, and the Commodore Hotel in September 1956. It burnt down in January 1959.
