  • J. J. and Blount Pitchford pose with a large tarpon held in place with the help of Wallace Maddox and a piece of heavy machinery behind the trio. The fish display portrait was captured at the Pitchford Place service station in Jensen Beach.

Photo published in the January 1921 issue of Power Boating magazine (volume XXIII, No. 1) along with an article written by Edythe Willoughby titled “Cruising Among the Florida Keys.” The article details Edythe and Hugh Willoughby Jr’s travels from Miami to the Florida Keys and won the first prize in Power Boating magazine’s annual cruise story competition in 1921. Photo captioned in the article as “’Big Game from Florida Waters’ – Tarpon caught at Bahia Honda.”
