Governor Martin speaks at 25th anniversary, 1950
During a day-long program of events on 11 Nov 1950 celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Martin County, an Armistice Day ceremony was conducted at the Martin County courthouse, which included a 15 minute address by former Florida governor John W. Martin, at the podium. Mrs. Martin sits to his left and several government officials stand around the podium, including County Commissioner, Arthur Sims (behind Mrs. Martin), Chamber of Commerce President, R. V. Johnson (right of Sims), Judge Kanner (to the right of Martin), State Senator Evans Crary (right of Kanner), and Mayor of Stuart, Drew W. King (behind Kanner and Crary). -
