Kanner addressed the throng gathered to witness dedication exercises. Left to right: Mrs. W. S. Barstow, Mrs. Verner Z. Reed, W. S. Barstow, all of Hobe Sound, Dr. W. L. Shackelford and Dr. F. K. Herpel, both of Good Samaritan Hospital, Dr. A. M. Sample, Fort Pierce, the Rev. W. C. France, P. P. deMoya, Joseph V. Reed, Hobe Sound (directly behind the speaker, Senator Kanner) M. R. Cartwright, hospital superintendent, D. S. Hudson, Major C. D. S. Clarkson, and Edwin A. Menninger. Mr. and Mrs. Barstow are donors of the building; Mrs. Reed and her son gave the equipment; the visiting physicians were guest speakers; Mr. France gave the invocation; Mr. Hudson, Major Clarkson, Mr. Menninger, and Mr. deMoya are directors, along with Mr. Cartwright, Mr. Reed and E.
