Stuart bandstand, c. 1930
The Stuart bandstand, on the south side of the Holleran building between Flagler and Osceola. It was located there between 1928 and 1940. Painted sign on side of building, over bandstand: "Stuart Mercantile Company, Inc. The Big Store," which was replaced in 1933 with a sign for Ricou Hardware. Low quality print. -

Several people peruse art on display in Beckman's Lot in Stuart. Buildings in view next to the park, including R. F. Longbottom's Barber Shop and Taylor Ashley Real Estate & Insurance building. Building behind the display formerly housed H. H. Hipson's dental office on the second floor.
According to the Stuart News (10 Mar 1955), the Stuart Art Guild held a three day art exhibit in Beckman's Lot, next to the Martin County Hardware Co. store in early March 1955. Both professional and amateur artists displayed their art and over 1,000 people came through to view the exhibit. -

View of City Park, which was located between Flagler Avenue and Osceola Street in downtown Stuart (where the Pressel Building, built in 1940, stands in 2023). The Park has two chickee style pavilions with wood benches and tables under them. A few people are sitting on benches and several others are playing shuffleboard. -

The large white building with six windows on the second and third floors was built in 1927; in 1940, the Pressel building is constructed next to it in place of the bandstand.
