Steve Bishop, a caretaker at the House of Refuge Museum, adjust a Lyle gun cannon, which shoots lines or ropes, and is used in lifesaving. A captain's wheel hangs above the cannon and a captain's wheel leans against the wall. A portrait of Capt. Hugh Willoughby also hangs on the wall nearby.
Hugh Willoughby Jr. stands next to a life preserver ring with "Skylark" written on it. According to the Stuart News, Hugh Willoughby II purchased a ketch sailboat by the name of "Skylark" in the summer of 1934. The Willoughbys sailed the 46-foot sailing yacht from Newport, Rhode Island to the Stuart area over a period of six weeks in 1934.
