    According to the Stuart Messenger (23 Nov 1922), a cornerstone laying ceremony for Stuart High School, held on 17 November 1922, included Masonic rites officiated by the Masonic Grand Master of the State of Florida, Charles M. Ketcham. Local figures involved in the (Acacia Lodge 163) Masonic ceremony were J. N. Youngblood, George W. Parks, J. N. Newnham, G. S. Moore, Edward Mapp, A. T. Hogarth, H. W. Sankey, Max Sirkin and Eric Schroeder.
  • Jack L. Coleman was the Acacia masonic lodge master in 1951. Coleman owned the Firestone Store in downtown Stuart. He also served as a Stuart city commissioner and mayor in 1946.
