The Palm Beach Ferry boat "Pegg" filled with passengers for a cruise on Lake Worth Lagoon. The ferry boat docked at First and Flagler Streets in West Palm Beach. -
Frank Coventry with car ferry, c. 1917
In 1917, Frank Coventry opened a ferry service across the St. Lucie River between Jensen Beach (then Gosling) and Stuart. The ferry served as many as 500 cars a month until the auto bridge opened in January 1918. -

Group of people cross the St. Lucie River on a cable raft to Treasure Island (in Halpatiokee Regional Park in 2026) participate in a "treasure hunt" event intended to spur interest in the River Forest real estate development. The treasure hunt was held on 13 March 1926 on Treasure Island.

Photograph commissioned by local realtor, Harry Lyons, who along with his real estate partners established the River Forest Land Syndicate, which began selling parcels of land near the South Fork of the St. Lucie River in 1926.
