Harvey Merwin and his Italian wife, Frances Merwin driving their new car, a Jeffery Company touring car.
Both moved to Edenlawn plantation by the mid-1910s after spending many years abroad, performing as opera singers. Along with growing and selling ferns and Amaryllis lilies, Harvey served as a St. Lucie County commissioner in 1919 and again from 1929 to 1932. -
