  • Thomas Richards (1830-1902) arrived in the area in 1879 and named it "Eden." This dock was the biggest in the area, extending 1,500 feet into the Indian River. There was storage and a packinghouse nearby for pineapple packing, which were then shipped to Titusville to be loaded onto the railroad for delivery north.
