Description
Thomas Richards (1830-1902) arrived in the area in 1879 and named it "Eden." This dock was the biggest in the area, extending 1,500 feet into the Indian River. There was storage and a packinghouse nearby for pineapple packing, which were then shipped to Titusville to be loaded onto the railroad for delivery north. Photographer William Henry Jackson visited the Indian River area in 1887, 1889, and 1903.
