Charles Richard "Dick" Ashley came to Stuart in about 1937. He married Emma Taylor in 1939 and they had three daughters. According to his obituary in the Stuart News (29 Aug 1990) he served in the 82nd Airborne Division, receiving the Purple Heart for service during Operation Marke Garden in Holland in 1944. In 1946, he and father-in-law John E. Taylor opened Taylor-Ashley Real Estate and Insurance.
Parents of the bride, Dick and Emma Ashley, bride Jo Marie Ashley Paradise, groom Ronald Paradise, and grandparents of the bride Josephine and John Taylor.
Jo Marie's wedding dress was originally worn by her maternal grandmother, Josephine Kitching Taylor in 1914. (See JP-2025-022-A11-020)
