Osie Virgie Holyfield (1884-1960) married George Hopkins at 15 years old in West Virginia; they may have divorced before his death in 1930. They moved to Fort Pierce in about 1907. Later, she owned drinking establishments in Stuart and Vero during Prohibition. Their daughter, Madeline (1909-1996) married Albert Paul "Bert" Krueger (1896-1973) of Stuart.Tags Portraits -

Ram-Jet Helicopter, 1959
Small helicopter parked in the yard of a home on East Ocean Blvd. Albert Paul "Bert" Krueger is standing to the right. Krueger acquired and taught himself to fly the Hiller YH-32 "Ram-Jet" helicopter in 1959 (Stuart News, 30 July 1959). It was destroyed during crash at the dedication of the Civil Air Patrol hangar at Witham Field in December 1959.Tags Helicopters
