Title
The Cabin, 1917
Description
Three women stand in front of house with a name plate, "The Cabin." This house was originally a 125-foot long, 30-feet wide paddlewheel boat, owned by John Samuel Danforth (who also built the Danforth Hotel), which served as a floating hotel from about 1892 to 1898, when much of the boat was moved to Danforth Camp and called "The Cabin." Helen R. Murphy (for whom Murphy Road was named) lived there.
(Handwritten on back: Edith Petty, Erma Goepfert, Mrs. Petty, 1917. However, this would make them Edith Petty Johnson (1902-1983), Erma Goepfert Norris (1903-1976), and Mrs. Emma Clark Perry (1870-1959), with the two on the left being 15 and 14, which seems unlikely.)
