Group of 231 people attended a July 4th picnic on Bessey Creek organized by the Palm Beach County Land Co. The Palm Beach Land Co., established by C. C. Chillingworth in 1910, was an early land development business and played a major role in bringing pioneer landowners and businesses to Stuart and Palm City areas.
