Description

Ralph Evinrude and Frances Langford on their yacht Chanticleer. Evinrude was born into the outboard motor industry. After his father's death, Ralph Evinrude merged his family's company, Elto Outboard Motor Company, with Johnson Motor Company to form Outboard Marine Corporation, where he served as its chairman from 1936-1982. Frances Langford was a successful singer, Hollywood actress and radio star. Evinrude and Langford married in 1955 and spent much of their time in the Jensen Beach area. They are remembered for their participation in many local charitable and environmental causes.
