Reception for teacher Dora Lowery (1892-1983), who was retiring after 39 years of teaching. Published in the Stuart News, 19 April 1962, with the caption: "Dora Lowery Day. Former pupil and mayor of Stuart, Jack M. Hartman, is shown presenting Mrs. Harris Lowery, Sr., with a proclamation designating April 17, 1962, as 'Dora Lowery Day,' in honor of Mrs. Lowery's many years of service as a teacher in the Martin County Schools. Mrs. Gallman Stuckey, Parent Teacher Association president, is at the right."
