Title
First Methodist Church of Stuart, c. 1905
Description
Man in the doorway of the first church in Stuart, the First Methodist Church (or the First Methodist Episcopal Church), was built in 1895, near where Roosevelt Bridge starts today along the railroad tracks. The church left the building in 1906 and the building was used for several businesses, including the Stuart Times and the Chamber of Commerce. The building was moved in 1932 to Third Street (steeple removed) to be used as St. Mary's Episcopal Church. In 1950, St. Mary's leaves the building and has been used by several businesses and an art gallery. In 2024, it is The 1895 Church of StuArt.
