Description
Three young boys stand in front of store window looking at display of fishing equipment and a sign promoting the Fishing Rodeo contest. The boys are brothers and identified as (left to right) Wilford Thomas, Herman Thomas, and Johnnie Thomas. The store advertises Eskimo Pies and a sign on the door reads "Buy Merita Bread Today!" The "Negro Fishing Rodeo" was first held in 1954 and continued until at least 1958.
