Description

Five adults watch several teen boys loading a van with books. Identified: Robert Hamilton (Librarian), Virginia Forrest, Felix Williams (teacher at Stuart Training School and principal of East Stuart Elementary), Dick Hupfel in van, David Miller, David Anderson, Samuel Pettway, Leroy Newton, Willard Preston, Thornton Bradley, Elbert King, and Ira Williams (in hat; president of the library board of trustees in the mid-1960s).

Published in the Stuart News (16 Jan 1958) with the caption: "Loading books at the Martin County Library for delivery to the new Stuart Training School Branch library are Felix Williams, Richard Hupfel, whose truck was used; David Miller, David Anderson, Samuel Pettway, Leroy Newton, Willard Preston, Thornton Bradley, and Elbert King as Librarian Robert Hamilton, Mrs. F.B. Williamson Jr., and Dr. W. Ira Williamson look on."
