Title
Poor Bobs Lounge and Deli, c. 1955
Description
Interior view of Poor Bobs Cocktail Lounge and Delicatessen at the Jensen Beach Causeway. Four people in white collared shirts stand behind the bar and many green cushioned barstools are lined up in front of the bar. Robert W. Weisenberger built and opened Poor Bobs in 1952 replacing the bait and tackle shop that was previously located at the site. Poor Bobs closed in 1983 and was torn down in 1985 when the site was made into a parking lot for a bait and tackle shop once again. The back caption reads "Imported Draught Beer, Wine and Liquors. Featuring Kosher and German Style Sandwiches, Home Made Soups, Pizza Pies and Italian Sausages. Imported Swiss, Italian, Greek, and German Cheese."
