Railroad trains Nos. 813 and 10, c. 1970
Subject
Description
Two locomotives. Caption: "No. 10 was one of the two ancient 4-4-0's used in the construction of the 'Overseas Railroad' or 'Flagler's Folly.' This Schenectady engine built the road along Key Largo to Long Key. Then it was barged to Marathon to continue the road from Key Vaca. By contrast, heavy mountain types like 813 hauled freight on the 'overseas' during its last prohibition and depression years.
