Title
Dedication of the flag pole, 1918
Description
Erected 12 January 1918 in the middle of Flagler Avenue between the train station and the Feroe building. Visible here are the second Lyric Theatre and the Stuart Mercantile building, with cars and crowds watching a speaker.
Published in the Stuart News, 25th Historical Edition (9 Nov 1950) with the caption "Looking South down Flagler Ave. (before it was widened during the boom of the 1920s) the center of town looked like this. The occasion was a dedication of the new flagpole from which Old Glory proudly flew until a storm demolished the pole."
