Royal palms, 1947
Item
Title
Royal palms, 1947
Description
Published in the Stuart News (16 July 1947) with the caption: "These stately Royal Palms at the Fuge Estate on the bank of the upper South Fork furnished the theme for an attractive advertising mural seen by many thousands of people annually on Florida East Coast streamliners. This photo was taken by Harry Wolfe, official photographer for the railway. Both the Fuge estate and its neighbor, the Backus estate, are far-famed for the beauty of their Royals. Royal Palms grow rapidly when given proper care. They are heavy feeders and need moisture. Beautiful examples in the city of Stuart are to be seen at the Howard Partlow place the Shepard estate, and the Roman J. Irwin home."
