Published in Sandra Thurlow's book, Stuart on the St. Lucie (p. 147) with the caption: "…the old house as it looked on August 18, 1948 shows that the configuration of the land at the entrance of the creek was already being altered. Additional dredge material would later be used as fill for Valor Point on the west side of the creek."
