Description
The Minschke building on Flagler Avenue (frontage on Osceola Street as well) in downtown Stuart. S. A. Matthews built the structure, and its formal opening was held on January 29, 1927. Frank Minschke purchased the building and along with his business partner, Arthur Thorton, relocated their Osceola Furniture Co. store to the location later in 1927. J. R. Holleran purchased the building in the 1930s. Several businesses have set up shop under the roof of the Minschke-Holleran building over the decades including the Stuart Grocery Store, Davis Hardware Store, Florida Mortgage Loan Co., Ricou Hardware Store, Western Auto Associate Store, W. W. Mac 5 & 10 Store, Coleman Firestone Store and Christopher Electric Shop.
Seen in this photograph captured during the 1990s, Raymond James Financial Services, Inc. occupies the upper floors of the building. Luna Italian Restaurant occupies the first floor of the building starting in the early 1990s and as of 2026, the restaurant remains at this location.
