Description
Women in front of small building with large smokestack. Ice manufacturing house located in Salerno. R. R. Ricou built the first icehouse in Martin County around 1902 to support his Ricou & Sons Fish Company, which would eventually grow to eight branches along the Florida coast. Prior to building the first icehouse, ice was brought to the area on train cars from Titusville. Finished by Florida Photographic Concern (Ft. Pierce, Fla.)
