Title
Pink Pony Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge, c. 1955
Description
The Pink Pony restaurant and cocktail lounge, located at the intersection of Highway US 1 and Indian Street (three miles south of Stuart at the time). Owners, Stanley Mistura and William Bass, who also owned the Blue Goose Inn and restaurant in Stuart contracted Herbey G. Gass to design and build the restaurant, which opened around May 1955.
The Pink Pony remained a popular destination through the 1960s but was sold in 1977 to two chefs that renovated the building and reopened the restaurant as Le Pavilion, which served French cuisine. Then in the 1980s, the building was torn down to make way for the Wedgewood Commons shopping center.
