Item

Title

Class portrait, 1951

Description

Several students seated around a table in a small classroom using finger paints. Teacher standing behind the table is Irene Willma, who taught at the Pioneer Class. The Pioneer Class (later called Pioneer School) was a school for children with intellectual disabilities in Port Salerno. Calendar hangs from the bookshelf near the table and indicates the photograph was likely taken in September of 1951.
