St. Lucie River Power Squadron officers inducted at Stuart's Yacht and Country Club in March 1979. The officers are (from left to right): Donald B. Powell, commander; Donald S. Till, executive officer; Walter M. Maron, educational officer; Gerald L. Stahl, administrative officer; William D. Monroe, secretary.

The United States Power Squadrons (USPS) or America's Boating Club, first founded in 1914, continues to serve as an educational organization that teaches maritime safety courses throughout the country. The St. Lucie River Power Squadron was first chartered in 1970.
