Item

Title

Two girls view Fishing Rodeo prizes, 1954

Subject

Description

Two young girls stand in front of a Florida Power & Light Company window display. A sign placed in the window reads "Jensen Bridge Kid's Fishing Rodeo July 15th 1 P.M." Several items placed on the table just inside the window. According to the Stuart News (8 Jul 1954), prizes for the 1954 Fishing Rodeo were donated from many local businesses and first displayed at Mil's Glamour Nook in Jensen Beach. The prize display was then moved to the Florida Power and Light Company display window seen here for the final days leading up to the contest. Reflection of Bozone's Barber Shop visible in the display window and the Karl L. Jarvis Real Estate office in the Arthur Dehon Building can be seen in background.
