Rainbow parade float, 1961

Description

Rainbow float with several young woman passes by the Stuart Tackle Shop and Gulf Gas station on Colorado Avenue for an Independence Day parade through downtown Stuart. A different photo of this float appeared in the Stuart News (6 Jul 1961) with a caption reading "Most Beautiful float in the Fourth of July parade was that of the Order of Rainbow for Girls." The girls on the float identified in the paper as Kathleen Stevenson, Judith Harris, Claire Dumich, Kay Paradise, Carolyn Gray, Judy Gilson, Joanne Coulter, Susan Coulter, Laura Sipos, Dianne Means and Mary Ann Winn.
