Kid's Day parade majorettes, 1957

Description

Martin County High School band majorettes sit on top of a parade car as they pass down Osceola Street for the Kid's Day parade held on September 28, 1957. The MCHS marching band follows behind the parade car. The majorettes hold up a piece of wood with a sign reading "This was Ft. Pierce's Goalpost!! 20-7." Businesses visible include Dehon Real Estate, Stuart Hardware, Ideal Sport Shop, Friendly Tavern, GE Appliances, W.W. Mac Company.

Pierce goalposts and to brag about the score (who wasn't?) as they rode in the Kiwanis Club's Kids Day parade last Saturday. The girls are Mary Jo Luce, Carolyn Johnson, Barbara Delich, and Laura Kay Whiticar. Driver of the car: Fred Burkey."
