Cashel estate, 1955

Description

Cashel estate in Port Sewall. Originally built around 1917 by Martin Maloney and purchased by boat manufacturer, Fred Hewitt. The estate was again sold to Owen Kenneth Murphy, owner of the Niagara Manufacturing Co. around 1957. After moving to the area, Murphy built Manatee Marina and the Manatee Yacht Club Restaurant. He displayed his large collection of art and other treasures from around the world at both his Cashel estate and at the Yacht Club Restaurant. After Murphy's death in 1968, the estate was sold to Ed Miller, a commercial flower grower in the area.
