Published in Sandra Thurlow's book, US Life-saving Service, with the caption: "Louisa Coutant is entertaining her grandchildren Virginia and Ralph C. "Bob" Willits at the Mosquito Lagoon House of Refuge. The date of the photograph is probably 1911, judging by the ages of the children. Samuel Coutant retired from the U.S. Life-Saving Service the following year. Note the recently added upper-story bank of windows."
