Description

Sheriff Deputy with metal barrel, probably part of seized moonshine still raid. Slater Grose (1936-2007) served in the Martin County Sheriff's Office for 14 years, starting as the jailer and ending as the second in command under Sheriff Roy C. Baker. He was the first Marine Deputy. In 1974 he left the Sheriff's Dept. and worked at Stuart Paint and Supply. Scan from low quality print.
