Published in the Stuart News (17 Mar 1955) with caption "Organization for the Town of Jupiter Island was effected at the Island Town Hall Tuesday morning following the March 1 election of town officers. Attending the council's first meeting Tuesday were (left to right, seated) R. E. McConnell, elected Mayor; A. R. Harris, elected Vice-mayor; Commissioners S. W. Labrot, Jr., Kemp Caler and A. Urfer; (standing) Town Manager Richard Tuggle, Attorney R. J. Randolph, and Chief of Police Marvin Crowe."
