Gannet charter boat, c. 1955

Item

Title

Gannet charter boat, c. 1955

Description

Gannet charter boat, part of the Whiticar fleet of boats. George "Curt" Whiticar built the boat and Addison Whiticar (1885-1980) acted as captain from 1937, when it was first launched to around 1959, when it was replaced with Gannet II. Indeed, Addison Whiticar is likely seated in the captain's chair on the upper deck of the boat in this photo. The group fishing off the lower deck, includes a man reeling in a fish, possibly a marlin or sailfish.
