Title
Meadow's Restaurant, 1955
Description
Meadow's Restaurant at 211 South Federal Highway (US 1) in Stuart, previously the popular and widely known Chisolm's Grill, established in the 1920s. It was in 1955 that the name was changed to Meadow's, after the building was leased to John D. Meadows, of Johnny's Restaurant in Ft. Piece, along with Harry and Irene Kelly. The restaurant began offering "all you can eat" fish, chicken, or shrimp meals at a $1.35. By 1956, Meadows was no longer involved with the business and the name was again changed to Kelly's Restaurant. By the late 1950s, it became Pace's Restaurant before being demolished in the 1960s, when US 1 was widened into four lanes.
