Exterior view of the France Apartments, boat docks, and covered boat slips. Several boats are at the dock or in the covered slips and there are many cars parked near the docks. Postmarked in Stuart on November 27, 1942 and postmarked in Cashion, Oklahoma on December 1, 1942. Postcard sent to Mr. and Mrs. G. Jarvis in Cashion, Oklahoma from "LaVeka." -
Blue Goose Court, Stuart, Florida, c. 1945
The Blue Goose Inn opened in 1944 replacing Fuller's Bar which occupied the location previously. The business expanded over the years to include cottages for lodging (Blue Goose Court). Back caption reads "Blue Goose Court/ Stuart, Fla./ On U. S. #1 -- 15 Miles South of Ft. Pierce/ Modern Cottages, Apartments, Kitchenette available. Pleasant Vacation Spot year around. Kimberly apartments in Stuart. Built in 1913, this building was sold in 1939 and the name was changed to the Riverview Apartments (located at Seminole Street and Colorado Avenue). There is a car parked beside the building (partially obscured by bushes) -
Atlantic Court Apartments, c. 1945
Atlantic Court Apartments in Stuart. Originally named the El Bit-Lor Apartments, this building was built by Bert A. Bittan and John E. Taylor and opened in 1926. These nineteen lavishly built apartments hosted many a fancy party and was touted as one of the finest apartment buildings on the East Coast. The building was repossessed in 1936 by the loan holder, Atlantic Bank, and renamed the Atlantic Court Apartments following the 1933 hurricane as well as the end of the 1920s land boom. A sidewalk with a fire hydrant and a street light as well as several parked vehicles and green space are visible near the apartments. -

Kimberly Apartments, c. 1935
The large building at 15 SE Seminole Street was built in 1913 by Sam Mathews for Elmer and Mary Kimberly. Electric lights and hot water were added in 1917. It became the Kimberly Apartments in the 1920s; it changed ownership in 1939 and was renamed Riverview Apartments. -
