  • Line drawing of the Okeechobee Courthouse. One of seven illustrations of county landmarks and points of interest along the Treasure Coast commissioned by First Fidelity Bank (1986-1990). Back caption reads "In 1917, Okeechobee County was formed from parts of Palm Beach, St. Lucie, and Osceola counties. Construction of the courthouse began in 1926 and was completed, at an estimated coast of $200,000, shortly before the major hurricane of 1928. After the storm, National Guardsman camping on the courthouse lawn used the courthouse as emergency storage for the caskets of hurricane victims, including seven unidentified bodies. One of a series of seven prints and postcards depicting historical landmarks and points of interest along the Treasure Coast of Florida. These illustrations are available exclusively through First Fidelity/Smart Money Centers."

  • Built in 1908 as the Stuart School, the building was then used as the Martin County Courthouse between 1925 and 1937.
  • The old Martin County Court House, designed by architect L. Phillips Clarke and built in 1937, is a historic Art Deco style courthouse building located at 80 East Ocean Boulevard. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
