  • Joseph A. Youngblood, Acacia masonic lodge master 1922. Joseph A. Youngblood was the principal of the Stuart School between 1914 and 1918. His wife Ethel was assistant principal and they set up the high school and secured an accredited rating for the school. Later he was the Palm Beach County school superintendent from 1925 to 1936, then served as State Administrator for the National Youth Administration.
  • Handwritten on back: "John W. Martin. Superintendent of Public Instruction - Martin County after four years as head of Commercial Dept. of Martin High - was elected in 1952 - assumed office Jan 1, 1953 (defeated Roscoe Rollins who served 8 years).
  • Superintendent John Martin hands an award to teacher Doris Lowery (1892-1983). Hazel Orman and Olny Eurit look on. Published in the Stuart News, 14 June 1956, with the caption: "The Martin County schools personnel in the photo above have racked up 105 years of teaching experience. Mrs. Harris Lowery, receiving a service pin from Supt. John W. Martin, has taught for 33 years. Miss Olney Eurit received a pin for 31 years of teaching; and Mrs. Hazel Orman for 30 years."
