Robert L. Hall (1937-2020) graduated from Stuart Training School in 1956. In 1969, he was elected to serve as Stuart's city commissioner, and in 1974 became the first Black mayor of Stuart.
Evans Crary (1905-1968) was an attorney, Stuart city judge (1930-1936), state representative from Martin County (1936-1946), Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives in 1945; and member of the Florida Senate (1946-1954).
