Mary Nelson was Martin Memorial Hospital's first Supervisor of Nurses, where she worked as a nurse for 19 years. She married former Stuart mayor Phil W. Pence in 1948.

Unidentified Jaycee-Ette member hands a small award to Marion Tschischeck, who joined the Martin County Health Department in 1957 as a staff nurse and retired as supervisor of nurses in 1968 before joining the faculty of St. Joseph College. Tschischeck invented the C-Better, a clip-on magnifier for syringes.
Wilthelma "Billie Holt" (1922-2001). Holt graduated from Baptist Memorial School of Nursing in 1944 and served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater, WWII. She then taught nursing. As a local historian in Indiantown, she created many oral histories with local residents. Poor quality photo.
