The Stuart Times (18 Apr 1913) announced the start of a Stuart baseball club in 1913, which was organized by several early Stuart residents including E. J. Ricou, A. R. Wallace, J. C. Hancock, C. A. Porter, Charles Glass, Harry Dyer, J. R. Pomeroy, C. W. McPherson, J. A. Y. Speirs and Stanley Kitching.
The newspaper also lists the baseball club players as Leroy Ricou, Walter Carlisle, Paul Witham, Boyne McPherson, Wrenn Ball, Walter Johns, Reginald Kitching, John Taylor, Lawrence Carlisle, Ulmont Bevill, Cal Lee and N. C. Stacey.
