Major John "Ski" Pietruszewski in uniform. John "Ski" Pietruszewski (1944-2013) started at the Martin County Sheriff's Office in 1983 as a reserve deputy. Over his 31 year career, he served in the Uniform Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division, and was the Director of the Operations, Training, Emergency Management Division, and a gun range instructor. He ran unsuccessfully for Sheriff in 2012.
