  • Long wooden walkway leading to stairs, amid thick palms.
  • Car parked along businesses on Flagler Avenue. Businesses include the Stuart Taxi Service, Victory Hotel (1942-1950), Marine and Beach Club (est. 1944), Stuart Dept. Store, Rexall Drugs, Lyric Theatre. Also visible is the water tower and train depot.
  • Built in 1936 as a community center. It was disassembled in 1971, then reassembled in Langford Park, Jensen Beach in 1981.
  • Stuart School. The building became the Martin County Courthouse for Stuart, Florida in 1925.

    Listed in the FPC record book 1 (PDF p. 143) as "3275 School house, Stuart, Fla."
  • Stuart High School. Postmarked 1949.

    Located at East Ocean Boulevard. Built in 1922, opened 21 September 1923.
  • Located at 500 Southeast Ocean Boulevard. The ground-breaking for the school was 12 October 1922; the school opened 21 September 1923. Ethel C. Youngblood was the first principal and approximately 300 students were enrolled grades 1 through 12. The school served as a school from 1923 to 1964.

  • Large building on the end of a pier. Built in 1916, the clubhouse was a social center for much of the community until it was demolished in the 1928 hurricane.

  • Lucie Lock and Dam, located along the St. Lucie Canal, approximately 15.5 miles upstream of the intersection of the St. Lucie River and the Intracoastal Waterway.

    First lock was built at this site by the Everglades Drainage District in 1925.

    Published in the South Florida Developer (28 July 1925) with the caption: "Draining the everglades - water rushing at the rate of 3,000 cubic feet per second over one of the locks on the St. Lucie Canal. This canal is one of five draining the Everglades and Lake Okeechobee, and carries more water than the other four combined. It is the key of the drainage system of inland Florida. The lock is six miles west of Stuart."

  • Rexall Drugs (73 SW Flagler Ave, Stuart, FL) at the intersection of Flagler Avenue and St. Lucie Avenue. Formerly Stuart Drugs in part of the building, it became Rexall in 1947. Also visible is the Osceola Building on Osceola Street with McClung's 5-10-25 on corner (which was replaced by P&L Stores in 1948), Stuart Villa Rooms (1945-1949).
