John Scott, 2004
Portrait of John Scott, an employee of Martin Memorial Health System for 73 years. Scott began his career as the hospital gardener in 1939, shortly after it first opened. He went on to work in several other facets and departments within the health system, including working as an orderly and in the mortuary, x-ray, records and medical coding departments. John Scott obtained his practical nursing license in 1959. In celebration of his service, the John Scott Healing Garden was dedicated next to the Cancer Center in 2005 and October 21st became John Scott Day at the hospital. He retired in 2011.
